The SmarTrike Trampoline 3 in 1

My Life with a Kids Indoor Trampoline

Posted by Sarit ITSIK on

Kids’ toys are a steady part of the interior design in medium-sized family apartments. If you entered a home with active young children and found no toys scattered around the place, you’d probably find it unusual. When the idea came to me that we should add a full-blown kids’ indoor trampoline to the many floor hazards already in our home, it took some serious consideration. But am I happy we did? You bet.

Entertaining Kids Indoors

While having two boys means we spend most of our afternoons and weekends outdoors, it’s not always the case. Sometimes we have to stay indoors and find fun ways to keep them engaged without breaking any delicate items like the television or wooden plates.

Puzzles? Done. Bricks and Lego? Done. Painting and crafts? Done. Screen time? Done. So, what now?

Enter SmarTrike’s indoor trampoline for kids.

Is it an awesome toy that kids can safely use indoors and will keep them engaged until exhaustion? Yes, it is. It creates the same euphoric atmosphere as a public trampoline park—minus the crowds.

Public Ball Pits and Trampoline Parks

We’ve all been to public trampoline parks, where kids charge with excitement and parents sit idly across the room. These places offer loads of physical stimulation, and some parents even have subscriptions. However, there are days when dressing up to meet other parents just isn’t appealing. And on those days, SmarTrike's indoor trampoline is the solution.

Multi-Age Solution

As a parent of two boys aged 1 and 4, it’s often a challenge to buy age appropriate toys for both. Spending more money on separate toys took up extra space in our home. But with the SmarTrike trampoline, I found a solution that caters to both their needs.

The joy of unboxing the trampoline was met with excitement from my youngest, who immediately crawled in and out of the ball pit, throwing balls around the room. Eventually, I managed to turn this into a responsibility lesson: “If you want to use the trampoline, you’ll have to pick up the balls first!” To my surprise, he did.

Health Benefits of a Kids Indoor Trampoline

Trampolining isn’t just fun; it’s a highly effective way to support your child’s physical development. According to a NASA study, 10 minutes of trampolining equals 30 minutes of running. It improves blood circulation, supports bone health, stimulates internal organs, promotes lymphatic activity, and strengthens the immune system.

Trampolining also boosts oxygen delivery to the brain, enhancing alertness, creativity, concentration, and emotional regulation, while reducing stress and anxiety.

The List of Benefits Goes On:

  • Child Development: Trampolining stimulates brain functions contributing to visual-motor and auditory-motor skills development.

  • Vestibular Stimulation: It improves balance by training the vestibular system in the inner ear.

  • Kinesthetic Awareness: It strengthens the connection between your child’s brain and body, improving their awareness of movements.

  • Good Body Awareness: Trampolining helps kids understand their body parts and how they move.

  • Spatial Awareness: The trampoline helps kids learn about their body’s position and how they interact with the environment.

  • Sensory Integration: The trampoline allows children to process multiple stimuli simultaneously, helping their brain organize incoming information.

  • Motor Skills, Coordination, and Balance: Jumping on the trampoline improves timing, agility, and overall coordination.

What Happens When They Both Want It?

The kids love the indoor trampoline so much that they often argue over who gets to use it first. My older child wants to bounce while the younger waits for his turn. Sometimes, the baby gets in on the action by bouncing on the mat with the padded handlebar. While it’s fun, it can sometimes lead to shouting and a bit of chaos—but that’s part of the joy.

Folding and Storage

One concern was the space the trampoline would take up. My spouse was initially apprehensive, but after seeing how easily it folds, her concerns were put to rest. I had to apply a bit of pressure to fold it properly, but once I did, it was easy and compact to store away.

Here’s a tip: The handlebar, which is essential for safety, comes off when the trampoline is folded. Be sure to store it out of your child’s reach to prevent any accidents.

Grow with Me Value

A multi-age toy that adapts to the child’s needs is invaluable. The SmarTrike Trampoline 3 in 1, does just that, offering both entertainment and developmental benefits. It’s built to last and grows with your child, offering endless fun.

In the end, the kids' indoor trampoline turned ball pit has been a fantastic addition to our home, and my kids have had a blast while developing essential physical and cognitive skills.
