What are the signs that my baby is ready to start walking?

How do I know when my baby is ready to start walking? He is 9 months old now and is an avid crawler. He has started to reach for furniture etc. and I read this as a sign that he is trying to pull himself up to stand. Is this correct? What are the other signs?

Pulling up to stand using furniture or other objects, bearing weight on their legs, and demonstrating curiosity in walking by taking little steps while hanging onto support are all hallmarks of a 9-month-old crawler's preparedness for walking. They could also have better balance and coordination when standing or cruising around furniture.
