Are baby trikes helpful to my toddler's ability to judge distance?

My toddler enjoys being outside and is a very clever kid. She has a knack for recognizing things on our path during our walks, but she struggles to express herself clearly when we get close to them. I want to help her judge distance when we go for walks together. My friend suggested that a trike could help with this.
