Our little one is 8 months old and we've read that this is the average time babies being to cruise. My baby tries to reach for furniture but does not pull to stand yet. How do I know when she's ready to start cruising?

That is a great sign! When babies begin to show an interest in cruising they will tend to reach out to grab onto objects. This is so the babies can use the object to support themselves when they eventually begin standing! I would suggest placing your babies favourite toy on top of a coffee table as this may encourage them to hold on to the furniture and push themselves up to stand. I believe she will begin to cruise when she becomes more comfortable standing whilst holding onto an object to support herself.
